fashion event

As it is our final year of university we, as a team have to create an event to publicise and show case the latest trends for this up and coming season. there will be 3 groups each of which will have their own market levels from the high street.
1. independent store- high end
2.department store and in-store concessions- middle market
3. mass produced chain store / supermarket- low end

there is a show producer/ location advisor
- tasks involved music coordinating, catwalk design, technical liaison, and the lighting for the show.
-over see ticket design for the show
-securing an appropriate venue for the show
-finance- over seeing the costs of the show.

and then each group will have a separate
-choreographer
-models- model casting
-hair and make up design
-PR/ publicity/ sponsorship/ promotion deals
-styling

as we have no funding for this event we have to come up with fund-raising ideas to raise money to create this fashion show event.


Roles


The roles I would be most interested in is the model casting, hair and make up design and also the PR/ publicity/ sponsorship/ promotion deals.

Mainly PR as I have a few connections with radio companies and local businesses that may want to get involved such as Bolton FM, Rock FM and also Preston FM and could possibly get some promotional items from Thorntons Chocolatier as I work there and they may be willing to help. Lancashire Evening post could possibly do a print out in there fashion section in the run up to Christmas.  also posters could be created to be put up around the university and also around town and in shops to gain publicity.

Hair and make up design as obviously we would need to create a theme to go with the show depending on the style names and fashion trends we come up with. there are many good hair and makeup artist out there and i feel we should take advantage and go extravagant.

Model casting- as so many of us have many connections to models and not only that there is model agencies which are local and could possibly be willing to help.  the general public also like to get involved because lets face it. who wouldn't want to be a model for the day? but the task with this is we have to be ruthless and I think I have what it takes.
